Environmental responsibility at the core of our design

At Alegre Design, we turn design into a strategic force for positive change. Every collaboration is guided by intention—combining long-term thinking, sustainability, and human impact. We cultivate a culture of shared learning within our team and partner with those who believe, like us, that design can build a more resilient and responsible future.

Our 6 sustainability principles for design

At Alegre Design, sustainability is the cornerstone of our design philosophy. Our goal is to develop solutions that minimize environmental impact while maximizing social and economic value. In a global context that demands responsible innovation, we firmly believe that design has both the power—and the responsibility—to lead the way toward a more just, efficient, and regenerative future.

This vision takes shape through a holistic approach, where every phase of the product life cycle is considered with intention—from the selection of sustainable materials to the creation of durable, recyclable, or repairable products. We work closely with our clients to make decisions with positive impact, integrating principles of eco-design, energy efficiency, and circular economy. In doing so, we turn each project into an opportunity to enhance people’s lives while actively caring for the planet.

Sustainability is...

embedded in how we select and apply materials—from the first concept to the product’s end of life. With over 25 years of experience, we guide our team and clients toward choices that prioritize durability, performance, and environmental impact.

Byo by delaoliva embodies this approach: made from 100% recycled and recyclable materials, it reflects a circular mindset where material choices shape responsible design.

Longevity is...

at the heart of what we design. We create products built to last, with a focus on ease of maintenance, repair, and disassembly to support reuse and recycling. By prioritizing durability and modularity, we extend the life and integrity of our products—embracing circular strategies such as repair, reuse, and remanufacture. More than objects, we design solutions that evolve over time.
In that sense, Lin by Inclass brings together ergonomics, versatility, and durable aesthetics in a seating system designed for long-lasting performance. Its 100% recycled aluminum structure and modular design reflect a thoughtful approach to sustainability—combining structural integrity with environmental responsibility.

Efficient is...

our design mindset. Guided by the principle of “less is more,” we eliminate excess, minimize material usage, and optimize every component. We work with local suppliers whenever possible to reduce transportation impact and support regional economies. Our manufacturing processes are refined to lower energy consumption and waste, and we promote responsible consumption by encouraging mindful product use.
We applied this principle in the development of KLC by OMP, a versatile and efficient seating system designed to adapt seamlessly to diverse environments. With its clean lines, stackable structure, and thoughtful proportions, KLC maximizes usability and space optimization without compromising comfort or aesthetics.

Sustainability is...

Sustainability is a shared mindset that guides every stage of our work—from concept development to final delivery. It’s not an added layer, but a foundation for how we design, collaborate, and make decisions. We support our team through continuous learning and advise clients on the long-term benefits of responsible design. By embedding sustainability into our culture, we foster solutions that are thoughtful, durable, and built for lasting impact.
Made from durable, fully recyclable metal, Cesta by Katzden reflects a circular approach to urban infrastructure—combining functionality with an environmentally responsible design vision that considers the entire lifecycle, from concept to long-term use and reuse.

Timeless is...

We strive for timelessness. Our designs combine enduring aesthetics with robust materials, ensuring that they remain relevant and reliable over the years. We avoid fleeting trends in favor of solutions that can adapt to various contexts and needs, with designs, materials and components that stand the test of time.
Engineered for adaptability and resilience, A+S Work by Actiu is designed to meet the evolving needs of dynamic workspaces—delivering long-term performance, flexibility, and ergonomic comfort in high-demand environments.

Impact is...

what drives us. Every decision we make is guided by the goal of generating tangible, positive change. We work closely with our clients to promote more sustainable and responsible models, actively support environmental initiatives, and advocate for a regenerative economy. Our commitment goes beyond what we design—it’s rooted in how and why we design it.
Designed to support everyday convenience, Julius Tec by Carttec enhances the shopping experience by making it easier to transport goods—offering practicality, comfort, and reliability in retail and shared environments.

At Alegre Design, every project is an opportunity to design with purpose. Each of them challenges us to rethink traditional methods and to create solutions that prioritize the planets health, the welfare of communities, and the longevity of resources. By embracing sustainability as a core value, we deliver solutions that are innovative, functional, and ethically aligned with the needs of our time. Were not just shaping products—were shaping a future that is more resilient, inclusive, and respectful of the world we all share.
