OUR CHALLENGE

Designing for longevity in a rapidly changing workspace.

In 2008, Actiu set out to create a table that could meet the functional needs of modern offices while elevating the aesthetic of the workspace. The challenge for Alegre Design was clear: develop a structure that was visually distinctive, structurally sound, and capable of adapting over time. Arkitek had to be more than a piece of furniture, it had to become a long-term solution for professionals and companies alike.

OUR IMPACT

A timeless icon still shaping work environments.

Fifteen years after its launch, Arkitek remains one of Actiu’s most recognizable and celebrated pieces. Its architectural silhouette and aluminum structure continue to bring elegance and efficiency to workspaces around the world. Arkitek’s success demonstrates that when form, function, and strategy align, design becomes a long-term asset with real business and brand impact.

DESIGN JOURNEY

From vision to legacy: how Arkitek came to life.

The creative process behind Arkitek was driven by Alegre Design’s commitment to strategic, sustainable design. Inspired by architecture and precision engineering, the team developed a system that balances minimalism and identity. Every angle, joint, and material choice was made to ensure durability, aesthetic appeal, and adaptability, qualities that have made Arkitek a benchmark in industrial design.
