YUNGE was conceived as more than a seat. From the beginning, we understood it as a statement for a new generation of users: an office chair that moves easily with the body, adapts to it and supports the changing rhythms of contemporary work. As hybrid work blurs the boundaries between home and office, seating must respond with greater flexibility, comfort and emotional connection.
This project emerged from a close collaboration between the asiatic company UE and Alegre Design, combining UE’s deep expertise in mechanisms and ergonomics with our knowledge of conceptual design, aesthetics and user experience. The goal was to create a refined, ergonomic chair tailored to the expectations of European users, balancing innovation and emotion, performance and visual appeal.

Our challenge
A chair that adapts to the body, not the other way around
The challenge was to rethink the way an ergonomic chair interacts with the body. Traditional task chairs tend to force users into predefined postures. We wanted to reverse that logic: within a healthy ergonomic range, the chair should adapt to the user, not the other way around.
A key aspect was the integration of a proprietary 3D dynamic mechanism capable of moving up to 6 degrees in all directions. This system allows the seat and structure to respond naturally to the user’s micro-movements, reducing fatigue and encouraging active sitting throughout the day. All movement is integrated into a single mechanism, creating a fluid and intuitive experience.
At the same time, we focused on refining the aesthetic and tactile experience. YUNGE needed to feel close to the user, with upholstered lumbar support and headrest, clean surfaces and hidden technology. Cable-operated controls replace traditional visible levers, simplifying interaction and reinforcing a more elegant, contemporary language.
The impact
Intelligent movement for continuous comfort
YUNGE introduces a new ergonomic paradigm where movement becomes an ally. The chair adapts dynamically to posture changes while maintaining continuous support, encouraging healthier sitting habits without conscious effort. Its 3D mechanism allows the seat to tilt and move as a whole, creating a sense of balance, freedom and comfort.
The floating cloud seat cushion, with high-density molded foam and a wood-free structure, enhances this experience by combining softness with resilient support. The seat is removable and can be reupholstered, extending the product’s lifespan and reinforcing its sustainable approach.
The chair positions UE as a strong contender in the European market, aligning advanced ergonomics with European standards of design, usability and visual quality.
Design journey
Invisible design: when technology disappears and experience flows
Our design journey began with a fundamental question: how can innovation in ergonomics be translated into a chair that feels intuitive, elegant and human? From this perspective, we developed a structure that conceals complexity while amplifying experience. Mechanisms, movements and adjustments were designed to work as one integrated system, allowing the chair to respond naturally to the user.
The dynamic base became the heart of the project, enabling continuous movement in all directions and redefining the relationship between body and chair. The backrest and lumbar support were sculpted to feel soft, close and supportive, while the headrest follows the same philosophy of comfort and adaptability.
Invisible aesthetics played a crucial role. By eliminating visible screws and external mechanical elements, we simplified the visual language and improved maintenance and cleaning. The quick-release seat system supports flexibility, reconfiguration and long-term use.
YUNGE is the result of this approach: a chair designed for new generations, where innovation and emotion coexist. A product that combines advanced ergonomics with a refined, expressive identity, reflecting our belief that design should not only perform, but also connect.
