Our challenge

Creating an office chair that fits any environment while offering comfort to all users

Modern offices must be adaptive, fostering productivity and collaboration. As workspaces evolve, with people working from multiple locations, flexible offices, coworking spaces, and home offices now blur boundaries, requiring adaptable and versatile products that ensure health and well-being.

Our challenge was to develop a cohesive collection of office chairs that meet the demands of new working styles. Leveraging over 20 years of experience, we designed these chairs to ensure both coherence and functionality in traditional and hybrid workspaces.

The impact

A complete collection of chairs was developed from the same plastic frame

After some prototyping, we designed a thermoplastic backrest support that accommodates three sizes: High, Medium, and Low, all sharing a common minimalist plastic frame that ensures visual coherence across the entire collection. This resulted in a versatile family of chairs suitable for different environments, crafted for the contemporary work environment, and offering ergonomic support for various activities.

Research on arm designs led to optimal integration with the frame, ensuring compatibility with different upholsteries and sizes while adhering to EU regulations and ergonomic standards.

Inspired by adaptability, coziness, and ergonomics, OFY’s design merges comfort with versatility. The fully upholstered seat and backrest enhance coziness, while the PU plastic frame ensures adaptability.

Design journey

Find 'your own' chair

OFY stands for ‘only for you.’ When designing the chair, our goal was to create a versatile solution that could be used by different people in various spaces, allowing each user to have ‘their own’ chair. Its design, size, and finishes make it suitable for a wide variety of settings.

In response to the evolving dynamics of today’s workspaces, the OFY chair was conceived to meet the demands of new ways of working. It’s not just about adaptability; it’s about promoting health and well-being for its users in any situation, whether in traditional corporate environments or emerging hybrid spaces.
